What are Ventures?

We've been running residential Venture holidays for over 50 years. Tens of thousands of children and young people have attended one before and this year you can enjoy around 90 Ventures across England and Wales, and beyond.

We're all different – we have different personalities, different interests and different abilities. So that's why we have different types of Ventures. Some are more active than others, some have a specialist focus such as drama or outdoor pursuits, some are in boarding schools, some are in outdoor activity centres and a few are at camp sites...

But every Venture offers a place for young people like you to meet up for a great holiday - to make new friends and to meet God.

You can find out more about the different types of Venture, or the different age groups that our Ventures cater for.

So, what's it like on a Venture?

Ventures help people make new friends and have new experiences and find out more about God, but you don't need to be a Christian or part of a youth club to come. Each one does it differently, but each one does it in a way that keeps people coming back for more!

All Ventures will have loads of fun and games to help everyone have a great time, and every Venture offers loads of great food. Mornings and afternoons are often based around different trips or activities, but there are still times of quiet, and plenty of time to find out about God and each other.

Depending on which Venture you choose you could be swimming, having a barbeque on the beach, starring in a play, rock-climbing or a host of other things ... maybe even in the same day! No two Ventures are the same, and no two days are the same, so check out the Venture descriptions to find out which one you think you'd enjoy most.

Whichever one you choose, the best way to find out what goes on is to ask someone who's been there before. If you don't know anyone why not find out more by watching our video.

Our age groups

Explorer, Pathfinder and CYFA Ventures provide great holidays for our three main age groups - 8-11, 11-14 and 14+

Explorers

For Explorers aged 8-11 the emphasis is on FUN! Lots of activities and games help build confidence and new friendships. The same fun approach to worship and bible study helps children explore and develop their faith and understanding of God. Several Explorers Ventures are four-day Tasters, which are ideal for first-timers or for those who want a shorter time away. Click here to view Ventures for Explorers!

Explorers/Pathfinders

For Explorers (children aged 8-11) with an older outlook, or perhaps older siblings, there are a number of Explorer/Pathfinder Ventures which offer the same balance of fun activities and Christian teaching as the other Ventures but are aimed at ages 9-13. Pathfinders

A Pathfinder Venture offers a wide range of stimulating activities - physical and spiritual - to satisfy the most active and inquisitive 11-14 year-old. On a Pathfinder Venture young people can get to know God better at the same time as making new friends and having a great time. Each Venture offers something different while all provide a really enjoyable holiday which will be remembered for a long time afterwards. Click here to view Ventures for Pathfinders!

CYFA

CYFA Ventures offer a real mix - full on fun, yet with plenty of space and time to chill and to consider some of the big issues facing teenagers aged 14 to 18. But there are still plenty of opportunities to get active. Relationships built at a CYFA Venture, with friends and with God, will stand the test of time. Click here to view CYFA Ventures!

What are Falcons?

Falcons provide challenge, excitement, fun and rest for 8-18 year olds.
