The Holiday:
Join us on an adventure as we voyage around the Norfolk Broads in a flotilla of yachts. You'll join a crew and learn to sail the different yachts. There's also time to chat and make new friends. We meet together in the evening to sing songs (shanties), tell stories (logs) and worship God. We listen to talks about Jesus and then go into small groups to pray and discuss the week's spiritual theme.
The Location :
The Venture happens on the northern part of the Norfolk Broads in East Anglia. The Broads are large lakes interconnected by rivers which are wide enough to sail on. There are miles of whispering reeds and lots of stunning wildlife.
The Activities and The Programme:
We sail down rivers, through a number of towns and on the broads. We also sail to an important nature reserve. The sailing boats consist of a fleet of 4 to 8 berth yachts. We sail, eat, live and sleep on the yachts!
The yachts are split into four squadrons. In each squadron there are two boys' boats and two girls' boats. During the day you mix up within your squadron so you get to meet different people and experience the different yachts.
The Team:
A great bunch of people from across the country ranging from university students and sixth-formers to people who've retired! They're fun to be around, kind and great listeners. Most of all, they're there to serve you. Many came on the Venture when they were your age and want you to experience all the fun they had, discover how important you are to Jesus and the meaning he gives to your life.
